Founded in 1993

The Naples Orchestra and Chorus, officially and lovingly known as “I Musici Di Napoli, Inc.,” was founded in 1993 by Ralph Stewart who also became its first conductor.

Premier Volunteer Music Ensemble

After a modest beginning almost twenty years ago, The Naples Orchestra and Chorus has become a premier volunteer music ensemble in Naples, Florida.  With 55 instrumentalists and 35 vocalists under the baton of Robert Herrema, Conductor and Artistic Director, Naples Orchestra & Chorus performs exceptional classical and popular music. Annually, we perform six affordable concerts for the greater Naples Community.  In addition, special Easter Week concerts that feature Theodore DuBois’ The Seven Last Words of Christ are held by invitation from local churches.

What makes us Different?

The Naples Orchestra & Chorus is the only organization of its type in Southwest Florida.  Our combined orchestra and chorus allows us to present music featuring both instruments and voice, something other organizations cannot do.

We support talented local student musicians by providing them the opportunity to participate in rehearsals and concerts.  Under the umbrella of The Ralph Stewart Student Scholarship Program, we provide a variety of awards to students who perform with us.

The Naples Orchestra & Chorus Statement of Diversity

We embrace diversity within our membership and our audience, recognizing that its many characteristics: religion, age, ethnicity, race, identity, sexual orientation, economic circumstance, physical and mental abilities, and philosophies, all contribute to the unique nature of our vibrant organization.

The Naples Orchestra & Chorus is a non-profit corporation with an IRS Class 501 ( C ) (3).
