With a strong tradition of supporting students studying music, Naples Community Orchestra provides students with opportunities to participate in rehearsals and concerts, perform as soloists, and be awarded scholarships. We are proud of our long history of helping shape our students’ futures. If we do not involve ourselves in bringing students into music, we will lose an opportunity to help bring our most cherished values to our own community.
Several members of the orchestra are students of Florida Gulf Coast University and the University of Miami Frost School of Music. You will see and hear them in some of our principal chairs and as soloists. Our younger students are high school students in Southwest Florida high schools. Students receive stipends for their participation in rehearsals and concerts. In addition, each year the Ralph Stewart Student Scholarship is awarded to one or more outstanding graduating high school seniors who have participated in the orchestra or chorus for multiple seasons.
